Why wedding data is serious business

Names, phone numbers, who is coming with kids, who has allergies. All of that is personal data protected by the GDPR, and allergies border on health information. You have the right to know where it ends up, for how long and what for.

It is the question you would ask anyone holding 120 phone numbers of people who trust you.

What Invitatis does with your guests' data

In writing, because that is what a page about transparency is for.

European law, by default
GDPR as the standard for everyone, not as an exception.
Automatic deletion after 30 days
Data that has already served its purpose does not stay living on a server.
No sign-up for guests
They open the link, RSVP and that is it. No accounts, no apps.
Only the data you ask for
Data minimization, as the lawyers call it.
Control from your dashboard
Export to Excel or delete everything whenever you want.

Before trusting your list to any tool, look for three answers

  1. Under which regulation do they handle the data? It should be written down and easy to find.
  2. When is it deleted? "They never mention it" is an answer too. Just not a good one.
  3. Do your guests have to register? To confirm attendance there is really no need.

If a tool answers none of the three anywhere on its website, that silence is already telling you how they treat the subject.

The life of your guests' data at Invitatis

Before the wedding

Your guests RSVP and the responses land only in your dashboard.

Around the wedding

30 days later

Automatic deletion, without you having to remember.

The form, in detail on the RSVP page. The complete website, on wedding website.

"My brother-in-law works in data protection and was the first to ask where the guests' phone numbers ended up. We showed him the Invitatis policy and for once he had no complaints."

Frequently asked questions

The ones couples ask us, plus the odd lawyer brother-in-law.

Yes. Your guests' names, phone numbers, emails and allergies are personal data, and allergies also touch on health information. Any tool that collects them must handle them in line with the GDPR, and you should be able to know where they are stored and when they are deleted.

Automatically 30 days after the wedding. You do not need to ask for it or remember. If you prefer, you can delete it earlier from your dashboard.

No. They open the link, RSVP and that is it. No accounts, no apps and no handing over more data than you ask for in the form.

Three things: under which regulation the data is handled, when it is deleted and whether guests need to register. If the tool's website answers none of them, that silence is an answer in itself. Our privacy policy is linked in the footer of this page.

Yes. From your dashboard you export the responses to Excel for the caterer or the seating plan, and delete the information whenever you want, without waiting for the automatic deletion. We have a complete RSVP guide with all the details.
